About Me
As a 36-year-old female neurologist in Mozambique, I’m most proud of having trained many women in my country. I’m a member of the World Stroke Organization, a future leader of cohort 3, and a founding member of the African Stroke Organization. The city of Maputo currently has the first stroke treatment protocol thanks to my project. Previously, there was no standardized stroke treatment protocol. My project’s protocol was the first, ensuring the best care in the acute phase of stroke, reducing mortality and sequelae in a country where most strokes occur in young people.
