- PhD Title: Industrial Hemp Extracts a Potential Source of Plant-based Pesticides for Environmental Protection
- Year of Completion: 2026

PhD Overview
The use of synthetic pesticides has resulted in pollution of the environment and compromise human health. To replace synthetic pesticides, alternative compounds must be searched and medicinal plants are a potential reservoir for these compounds. Industrial hemp is known for its antimicrobial activities, especially against human pathogenic bacteria. Little is known about its activity on pathogenic bacteria that affect plants. Therefore, my research focuses on determining the antimicrobial activity of hemp extract against plant pathogens and its potential as an insecticide to control plant insect pests.
Sustainability Goals
