PhD Overview
The study investigates the complex interplay of institutional frameworks, governance structures, environmental conditions, human activities, and hydrological processes in shaping sustainable ecosystems. By investigating how these elements interact through the medium of water, the study hopes to identify outcomes that can help to develop resilient and enduring ecosystems. This approach necessitates an interdisciplinary and holistic approach that considers both direct human-water relationships, also known as socio-hydrology, and the feedback loops between water-related activities and overall human well-being. The research hopes to provide valuable insights into developing sustainable and equitable water management strategies by filling a knowledge gap in this area.
Sustainability Goals
- Climate Action
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
- Responsible Consumption and Production
About Me
As a water resources engineer with a passion for sustainable development, I’ve spent my career addressing Ethiopia’s pressing water issues. My research focuses on the interaction of humans and water, as well as the intricate interplay of climate change, water scarcity, and food security. By combining engineering, socioeconomic factors, and ecological considerations, I hope to create innovative solutions that improve water resource management and community livelihoods in Ethiopia.
